Sr. Software Test Engineer

Sr. Software Test Engineer needed to test and evaluate product security capabilities. The candidate should have software testing experience working with cryptography tools and technologies and will be responsible for creating, documenting, executing and reporting on testing schemes that exercise product capabilities.

Principal Responsibilities:
Design, implementation, documentation, execution and maintenance of test tools, test plans and test suites for Synchron Networks’ software applications during all phases of development.
Participate in API and component design reviews and white box test design and testing. Maintain and execute existing tests and test outlines and report results for all test execution.
Report, review and track defects and their resolutions.
Reviewing and track defects from Beta and Field testers.
Train and mentor junior software test engineers.

Qualifications:
Requires experience with internetworking security products and a strong knowledge of security technologies and topics. Must have experience working with products related to testing cryptography technologies including but not limited to Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Cache Servers, Packet Sniffers, Certificates, etc. Must have a good understanding of test automation and methodology, preferably in a UNIX environment, including white box testing. Requires experience using software test automation tools. Experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems. Must have good communication skills, organizational skills and pay attention to detail. Strong diagnostic skills are needed to find and analyze problems. Must have good, working understanding of general software development methodology and the software product lifecycle. Must be self motivated and be able to work independently, as well as within a team environment.

Desired Additional Skills and Knowledge
Experience with Linux operating system
Experience programming in C/C++ and/or Java
Experience writing and/or maintaining software test tools and white box tests
Experience using Sun Solaris
Knowledge of XML, SOAP, HTML, JavaScript, Java and other Internet technologies
Strong knowledge of enterprise application management technologies and products including LDAP, SNMP, ADS, HP OpenView, BMC and other systems
Experience with application servers and/or hosted applications
